HyLo is the only local business we know of to receive a love letter from the Philadelphia Parking Authority (“the PPA”), notorious for its aggressive ticketing of city drivers. After tweeting #dearPPA for a month, we galvanized a community of strongly “engaged” drivers through content and collateral (fake parking tickets juxtaposed with real ones). Always striving to marry the physical with the digital, we created a chandelier of parking tickets crowd-sourced from guests we invited to a faux “coffee and donuts” party, ostensibly for the infamous parking cop posse. (Two beloved local brands, Federal Donuts and Elixr Coffee, generously donated refreshments.) The event was in full swing when a courier showed up with a manila envelope. Expecting a Cease and Desist, we were delighted to find 15 pre-paid SmartCards and a love letter from our worthy adversaries.
