It’s hard to believe the third week of April is nearly upon us, but we all know what that means! Next Thursday (the 19th) we’ll be opening our doors for you to sample a fresh crop of bright new artisans, sip a RHUBY cocktail from Art in the Age and nibble on tropical treats from Kissinger’s Cupcakes and Brown Betty’s — all specially concocted for our very own NIC*FISH pop-up. Here’s a taste of what you can expect:
Nicole Fisher began her NIC*FISH label in 2000, designing clothes for her circle of musicians, entertainers, and other Philly tastemakers. Fisher layers bright colors like mango and cobalt to create lively, vivacious looks. With cut-outs and draping that flatter but never reveal, NIC*FISH combines sex appeal with elegance and ease.
Joining NIC*FISH is Philly-based artist Douglas Witmer. His color-banded paintings reflect his interest in geometry, manipulating surfaces, and “emphatic color.”
Jewelry sculptor Anu Rock brings the shine with his “rock and metal” jewelry. Weighty brass, silver and copper are treated and welded to create striking, African-inspired pieces.
Angela Monaco’s Concrete Polish jewelry line is bold and bewitching, rare and wearable. Rugged crystals are cast in lustrous silver and gold in a marriage of mineral and metal.
Philly favorite Danny Fox sculpts sleek, industrial rings from metal and acrylic. Straight lines and perfect circles inspire confidence; stark white and gleaming silver illuminate his flawless designs.
And Bus Stop Boutique will put some spring in your step with a NIC*FISH-inspired platform expo for this night only.
Join us April 19 from 7-10pm for an energetic burst of spring color and shine.
